Minimalist Style Home, North London
A modern family home with discrete technology
Minimalist Style Home, North London
We’ve been working with our client since they bought the property in 2014, and in that time gained a great understanding of their needs. Working with our client’s architect we were able to utilise the perfect home automation solutions for this project, where creativity and innovation combined for great results!
We were thrilled to come on board for this stunning renovation project. An architect designed minimalist family home, with clever discrete tech solutions. Having worked with our clients since they bought the property in 2014 we were well placed to understand the needs of this particular project, and help them to create their dream space.
Our client wanted sleek, intuitive control for multiple systems integrated with Gira KNX, from a minimum amount of control locations.
Having worked with our clients since they bought the property in 2014, we had a good understanding of the family and their home. When the time came for an extensive renovation project we took the opportunity to upgrade the previous installation, and add discrete AV solutions, lighting and heating controls, and video entry.
When our client moved into the property in 2014 Lutron was already installed, which caused some incompatibility issues with LED fittings. At the time we recommended replacing the Lutron with KNX in the backend and KNX RF (a wireless solution) for the keypads as running cables was not possible at the time. We also installed the Gira X1 Smart Home App.
When the time came for this renovation project the opportunity was taken to run cables and replace the KNX RF keypads with hard-wired options.
Gira KNX had been installed for several years so the Pushbuton Sensor 4 was a natural upgrade. A Samsung Frame TV was included as a discreet, cost effective way to hide a TV and Sonance Invisible series speakers were installed above the TV and Dining table for premium audio throughout the expansive open plan kitchen/living space.
For the temperature control, floor temperature probes were installed to protect the polished cement floor.
All the control points were positioned as discretely as possible, in white or aluminum finishes.
We also provided full design documentation to facilitate the electricians 1st fix of all systems.
